Let's Go Back

Beginnning tomorrow, December 27th, GSN will start programming at 8:00AM ET. Match Game 74 will air in that slot. What pisses a lot of people off is at 11:00AM ET, GSN will revert back to January 1974 in that slot. It's not the end, and the complaining is useless. Besisdes, the remainder of 75 will be back soon.

$25,000 Pyramid, Perry' Card Sharks, and Dawson Feud will continue off from those Christmas episodes.

B&W Lasted only 2 weeks, and Sherriwed aired on Christmas Day

Technology

Recently there was a band concert. Our percussion ensemble played this peice. Although this is the 2007 percussion version, it was still pretty good. I really like this song.

Wow it's been a while. Here is some recent news. GSN will have some marathons Thanksgiving Weekend. On Thursday, Catch Howie and some gorgeous gals on NBC than Syndicated Deal or No Deal from 9am-6pm. I might check it out. If you manage to survive that great thanksgiving feast, you get an awesome treat. From 9am-3pm, catch Pat, Vanna, and Charlie on Wheel of Fortune. The episodes will be from November 2006, May 2007, and February 2006. I'll tune in for sure. Also great to hear Charlie seeing how he's been edited out of the show. Howie gets a marathon from 9am-9pm on Saturday. All NBC. That's all for this. Happy Holidays.

Enough Already

In a house with 12 and 10 year old brothers, they love Dragon Ball Z Kai. Now, I never really liked it, as a matter of fact, I hate it. It annoys me.

But does it need to be played 369372947377301716390925938 Times a day? That's what turned me away. No show needs to be played that much. Same with Avatar the Last Airbender, but at least I can stand it.

Splank You

I'm in a Jazz Band where I live. One of the songs we are playing is called Splanky. It's a cool song. The piano solos and the trumpet mutes are a great touch. Wonderful jazz song. Very complicated though.

Rollin on Back

This week, the 9:30am airings of Karn Feud will be going back to 2002. I've never been a fan of Karn Feud season 1. Just very dull. I think the premiere will air tomorrow. Oh well, it could be Louie.

November 15th Schedule Changes

Here is the new schedule

7:00pm - 1 vs. 100 (GSN)
7:30pm - Deal or No Deal (SYN)
8:00pm - Family Feud (O'Hurley)
8:30pm - Family Feud (Karn)
9:00pm - Newlywed Game
9:30pm - Baggage
10:00pm - 1 vs. 100 (GSN)
10:30pm - Lingo (Yes, Lingo)
11:00pm - Deal or No Deal
12:00am - Catch-21
12:30am - Family Feud (O'Hurley)
1:00am - Family Feud (Karn)
1:30am - The $25,000 Pyramid
2:00am - Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
3:00am - Card Sharks (Eubanks)
3:30am - Card Sharks (Perry)

Well, my biggest gripe is $100,000 Pyramid leaves. Glad to see O'Hurley getting another slot. Lingo is interesting. I wonder how long Catch-21 will last. Regis getting pushed to graveyard hours is interesting too.

New Season Review

I've never been a huge fan of The Newlywed Game, but I watched the Season 4 debut with Sherri Shepherd. Still don't like it that much, but at least I watches 20 minutes of it.

Goodbye to a Legend

I was saddened this afternoon to learn the passing of a marvelous game show announcer, Charlie O'Donnell. Charlie announced various shows such as:

Wheel of Fortune
Trivia Trap
The Joker's Wild
Tic Tac Dough
The $25,000 Pyramid
The $100,000 Pyramid
Press Your Luck
Card Sharks
The Cheap Show
Stumpers

R.I.P Charlie O. You will be missed. WoF will never sound the same. Also, you can hear Charlie tonight at 2:30am on The $25,000 Pyramid

A Halloween Weekend

I must say, I didn't crap my pants because of freight this weekend after watching some Halloween game shows. This weekend game shows such as Karn and O'Hurley Family Feud, and Deal or No Deal. I did find a tape from last year featuring Halloween episodes of Super Password, Ray Combs Family Feud, and Anne Robinson's Weakest Link. I enjoyed them, especially Weakest Link. Ha.

Richard and Richard in the Morning

One of the most recent controversial subjects on the GSN board is Richard Dawson and Richard Karn's Family Feud. On September 13th, GSN put Karn on Mondays and Fridays at 9:00am and 12:30pm. Dawson aired on Tuesdays-Thursdays at those spots. That pissed some people off. Didn't bother me though.

On September 27th, Karn aired Monday and Friday mornings at 9:00am (full hour) and Dawson the other weekdays. I found this good because we got through the late 1980 episodes faster.

On October 25th, it changed again. Dawson aired at 9:00am and Karn at 9:30am. That's fine with me too.

Happy Days are Here Again

The TV network The Hub launched on October 10, 2010. What tuned me in was Happy Days. I have been waiting a long time to see this again. I was very happy to see Richie, Potsie, Fonzie and many others. I really enjoy it and hope it sticks around.

I'm also glad it got to be seen again before Tom Bosley passed away on the 19th. God bless you Tom and your family.

Why Mark These Skippers

With Match Game 75 airing on GSN at the moment, only 1 episode is skipped. However, a friend of mind uploaded that episode. Plus 2 episodes that are noramlly skipped.

Here is the skipped Match Game 75 Episode #376
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Apparently this is "Damaged"

Well, we all HAVE to be Politically Correct Right? Well here is something that someone just got offended on.

Here is Episode #137 of Match Game 74

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Wow, let's get worked up over something that happend 36 years ago.

This final one is skipped as well. Originally, it was because of a comment Dawson made, but there's nothing.

Match Game 78 #1281

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

And this concludes my rant. Also Match Game 73 #19 is on retrogameshows.com

Baggage This Week October 4-8, 2010

Monday, October 4th: Monday is Cougars day. Three older women will fight for the affection of younger guy Sean. However, Sean may possibly be the president of a Justin Bieber fan club or an international vampire club. Can the lady accept it?

Tuesday, October 5th: Tuesday’s theme is “Baggage on the Beach”. Essentially the four people on the show will be extremely good looking and not wearing a lot. It’ll be three ladies holding the baggage, so that’ll be fun. A little more pleasant for us than the cougars episode I’d imagine.

Wednesday, October 6th: “Get Her to the Geek”: Obviously a play on the movie “Get Him to the Greek” which came out on DVD on September 28th, this episode three nerdy guys will fight for blonde bombshell Hollie.

Thursday, October 7th: Thursday will be “Sexy Senior” night and has the potential to be hysterical and extremely creepy at the same time. Main contestant Romaine is 72 years old and will try to find another senior partner in this episode. Probably would be good to have a bottle of vodka near you for this one.

Friday, October 8th: Compared to senior night, Friday’s “Bald and Beautiful” is rather tame. It’s exactly what you’d expect. Dater Melissa has to choose between three bald men. $50 says Melissa is bald. That’ll be a fun reaction.

Happy 50th Flintstones

Wow, it's been 50 years since The Flintstones debuted on ABC at 8:30pm. Even though it debuted on September 30, 1960, Boomerang is airing 50 of the best episodes Today (10/2)

This has Always been one Of my favorites. I'm glad they still rerun it. Once again, Happy 50th!

15 Game Shows That Deserved Better

15. Stumpers - Ya know, this was a good show, and I think it REALLY got screwed over by NBC. I thought had a decent gameplay, decent host, and it well deserved a longer run.*

14. Hollywood Showdown - This was really enjoyable to watch. I learned so much about pop culture, and Todd Newton did a great job. It deserved a longer run.

13. 50 Grand Slam - Yet another show that got REALLY screwed over by NBC. It was an interesting quizzer, and had high stakes, and i thought Tom did a good job hosting it.

12. Body Language - This was really fun to watch, seeing all those celebrities act out the most rediculous things ever. Some more of TK's great work. Really would've loved to see it run a few more months

11. Double Dare (Trebek) - I actually enjoyed this show. If you closed your eyes when they showed the answers, it was fun to play along with. There were also a few funny moments on the show. Could've lasted 5-6 months more.

10. Now You See it - This was an enjoyable word game. I never cared for Chuck Henry's version, but I loves Narz's version. I enjoyed both formats, and Jack looked like he had a good time doing it. Could've lasted at least until the end of 1975.

9. Card Sharks (Rafferty) - This well shoudld've seen the 1987-1988 season. The prize cards were a nice touch, and Bill looked like he enjoyed it.*

8. Break the Bank '76 - The daytime version was a sucsess, and yet it got killed after 3 months. The celebrities were enjoyable, and the gameplay was decent. The nighttime version lasted just right.

7. Trivia Trap - I am in minority here, but this show should've lasted a couple more months. I didn't mind the 2nd Format. The sweaters are cool too!

6. 1 vs. 100 - This show was also screwed over by NBC as well. Bob did good, and it was really fun and hilarious.

5. The Money List - Great Concept, Great Host, Great Show. Too bad Big Saturday Night helped kill it. It should've gotten at least a 2nd Season

4. Chain Reaction (Cullen) - Bill did a great job, and this was really fun to watch. It had a decent payout, and the contestant's were smart too.

3. Million Dollar Password - This show really was fun. It was a little faster paced, but it was still Password. Really deserved a longer run.

2. High Rollers - While I never was a fan of the Martindale run, I think it did deserve a 2nd Season. Both Trebek's versions deserved a few month's extra.

1. Blockbusters - I really enjoyed this show. It might've been a question and answer game, but I enjoyed it. Great moments, great hosts. Cullen's deserves a few more months, and Rafferty should've gone into 1988. Shame they had short runs.

10 Game Shows That Are Popular and I Can't Figure Out Why

This is a list I made last August. Here are the shows.

10. Chain Reaction (post-1980 versions) - Geoff did an OK job as a host, but the 1986 version just seemed really cheap and boring and a huge letdown. And the 2006 version, I don't think Dylan is the best host, and the contestants are amazingly stupid.

9. The $50,000 Pyramid - More and more cheap. The top prize might've been increased, but overall, it just sucked, and was very dull. It beats Davidson's version, but Osmond's was far more enjoyable than this

8. Davidson Squares - It had a few funny moments, such as that woman pushing that man of the edge, but other than that, it pretty much sucked. Some celebrities weren't even funny, and John wasn't a good host, and I'm surprised that it lasted 3 seasons. Bergeron's version is sooo much better.

7. To Tell the Truth - It can be enjoyable at times, but it's just a question asking game. Got really boring after a while

6. Duel - I never really got into this show. Didn't like the host, the format, or anything about it.

5. Tic Tac Dough - Yeah, this show really got boring after 1982. It's just answering questions trying to get Tic-Tac-Toe. It was just a run-of-the-mill quizzer, which are usually boring

4. That's the Question - Poor format, really boring, and was just never meant for TV. I think Bob Goen got screwed over here.

3. The Cube - I am going to get brutally murdered so I am staying in a motel tonight. I just don't see what's so great. Sorry, I think Minute to Win It is better. Plus the host is a bore.

2. The Joker's Wild - You're just spinning a giant slot machine to answer regular questions. Jack Barry was an awful host who didn't look comfortable doing it, and Bill Cullen couldn't even save it. What an awful way to end his career.

1. 20Q - There was nothing great about this show. Cat Deeley was an awful host, Mr. Q wasn't even funny, and the format was awful. Even without Big Saturday Night, it still sucked.

My Thoughts on the Recent GSN Schedule Change

Well, GSN just recently did some changes and they started this week. Here are my thoughts:

• The double run of Karn on Mondays and Fridays. I'm glad that Dawson's double run on the other days are from the 9:00am run back to back.
• The 10:00am hour remains the same, although I think The $100,000 Pyramid should air at 10:30 instead of the $25K version.
• Makes me sad that Match Game is now in death hour. Hope it lasts long, they're airing good episodes.
• I really don't like how Carnie gets another slot. Seriously, I guess all is forgiven. The extra Baggage I can accept :p

On what left

• Eubanks Card Sharks leaving daytime doesn't make me cry, as a matter of fact, I'm glad it's leaving daytime. It's really starting to get old. I think it needs a rest.
• The 12:30pm run of Early 1980 Feud isn't much to cry over, because they aired last May, although I would've loved to see the Tires episode.
The $100,000 Pyramid still airs in latenights.
• I'll miss Million Dollar Password a little. It didn't belong on Weeknights IMO.
